Mad Mac

Mad Mac 7709 W Overland Rd. STE 120 Boise, ID 83709 801-900-3868 Calavera Mac & Cheese If you haven't been to Edwards cinemas off of Overland, now you have a reason. Mad Mac is a cool hangout that offers comfort food with a twist. I ordered a couple different Mac dishes and I can tell you they were all pretty good. The one that stood out to me was the southern comfort mac. This one had a great blend of cheeses that was nice and creamy. Loved the corn mixed in with the crispy bacon. The bacon cheeseburger mac was good also but the saltiness of the bacon overwhelm me and kind of took the flavors away. The calavera was ok, not big on the pico flavors. The chicken in it was very tender I have to admit. I even brought it up another notch by mixing the bacon cheeseburger with the southern comfort! Now that was awesome! The one thing I'm not to big on is that you get it in a Chinese style box with the ingredients on top, and not mixed together. I'd prefer it was

LongHorn Steakhouse

LongHorn Steakhouse 7997 Franklin Rd Boise, ID 83709 208 -375-9398 Longhornsteakhouse.com Hated this when it was Chili's and still hate it now that it's Longhorn. The way the restaurant is setup for entering and exiting still sucks. It's a pain to get in mother the parking lot area if you are coming from opposite side. 1st impressions is the place is nice, cool decorations and a good staff. I like the way the restaurant was neat and clean. The menu laid out nicely. I went for lunch and decided to just hang out at the bar today. Lots of varieties of liquor and ok selection of beer. The menu is nice and simple, not overly complicated and still carries a good selection of steak. Since it was lunch I got the steakhouse burger with bacon and cheddar. I was offered bread, at first I turned it down, I was curious to what it was and so I asked and it is honey wheat with butter. So I said "sure, I will have some" that never came but I probably confused th

TradeViet Specialty Foods

TradeViet Specialty Foods I visited this place and it had great potential to be a game changer in town. All the small Mom and pop shops will have a hard time competing against this Asian store. Produce and meat is fresh, you can even buy fish there and have them fry it for you at their deli. There is pho there, spicy noodle, stir fried noodles, egg rolls, and much more for the Lao, Thai, Viet, and Chinese Community. I can'twait till this place is fully running with products that only big city Asian markets sell. I hope our city will continue to support this and the culture that it brings. You could just find me here shopping for ingredients to make my dinner at home.

Boba Bar and Desserts

Boba Bar and Deserts!    What can I say about this place? I walked in thinking I was getting a boba drink and came out with waffle ball desert. SMH, now the smell of this place is intoxicating, the staff is friendly and helpful. I ended with the Neo split and I can tell you I enjoyed every bit of it! I sent my wife a picture and she was so mad at me because she wanted me to take her there. The split had bananas with chocolate syrup on top of vanilla and strawberry ice cream. The waffle was easy to either bite off or just cut off with the spoon. Great little hangout spot so if you are looking for a treat, this is the place to be. "Give it a try and feel the hunger!" The Dumpling Inn

The Dumpling Inn! Great place to have lunch! There are great choices in beers, and the food comes quick. We ordered some of the steamed dumplings that either had shrimp or pork. The one thing that I can say is you may want to order more than just one entree if you are eating dumplings. The fried rice and chow mein dishes are big portions. Very good, not too oily but delicious, and makes me feel like my mom's cooking good! If you like water dumplings, you might wanna check this place. "Give it a try and feel the hunger!" Sorry

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been posting a lot lately, I promise to do more. I have been on yelp if you have not seen me, its because I have been giving more reviews there than here. Heres my Yelp link if anyone ever wants up to date stuff.  https://thehungryasian.yelp.com . Over the last few years, I have been getting a lot more into the scene of dining out and looking for good food. I am sorry to say I am becoming more of a snob. Don't know what turned me into one, but what I hate most it poor execution of food and really bad service. Now I'm a big fan of these small mom and pop restaurants because they create something that is from their family and their heart. Most restaurants now days serve complete junk or they copy each other. There is no creation of being original. Boise is one of most hardest places to find good food, because everyone copies each other or they are chain restaurants. Now I'm not saying there aren't any good restaurants, because there are. What
