2018 Toyota RAV4

We purchased a 2018 Toyota RAV4 SE AWD model in December. Well 4 months into it and the vehicle has been an awesome buy. 2200 miles has been put, gas mileage is great, averaging 24 mph in town. In the snow this vehicle feels heavy and even with the summer tires on, it handle great! No complaints so far, well maybe a little, more of a issue with myself than anything. I don't like the stitching for the interior being orange. I don't get what the orange stitching is all about, would of preferred red or  black. I love all the safety features this car offers, the dynamic cruise control keeps you at a distance and you can set it to what ever you want. The safety feature that is my favorite is the lane departure alert that is part of the Toyota safety sense. Keeps you in the lane and if you are driving long distance, we all know how we sometimes drift off. The backup camera on this is perfect, nice size for the screen, the lines are pretty direct on how it guides you to park, and clarity. The dealership we got our vehicle from was Peterson Toyota Autoplex in Boise, ID. One of my good friends is Darin Bunger. If you are interested, you can give him a call at 208-870-2285. Good people and none of that pushy sales crap that you get at other place, they treat you like family, good deals and great overall customer service. I did shop around for this vehicle since we have three Toyota dealerships in town and they all had vehicles but Peterson had more inventory in stock than the others. I spent 3 months looking at these vehicles and came away impressed comparing them to the Honda CRV. I shopped the price and believed the RAV4 was the overall best price for the car. I liked the CRV but felt the vehicle was cheap. My other big issue was that the CRV was equipped with a CVT transmission, for those that don't know, it is a continuous variable transmission. It has no gears and is supposed to be a smoother ride than the 6 speed. From my experience with CVT, these are more expensive to fix and they do not last long. The 6 speed on the RAV4 gave me more of a piece of mind. I also felt the quality of the vehicle was built better.
Now Toyota is coming out with a completely remodeled Toyota RAV4 in 2019 and the pictures make it look like a Tacoma with a camper, it still looks nice, I am interested in taking a look at that and getting another for my daughter. I have owned  a lot of different vehicles in my life. I have had Chevy, Fords, Lexus, BMW, Audi, Saab, Nissan,  and Toyotas. The Toyotas and Lexus by far are the vehicles I have had to do any type of fixes that affected the vehicle. My Lexus I have owned for 16 years and it has been an awesome vehicle still to this day. Our Tacoma has also been a good vehicle for us. This is just my opinion but I just feel like American vehicles do not have the quality or the quality parts installed to their vehicles. I have a Chevy Tahoe now and there have been a lot of cost issues for me. My gauge cluster went out, my oil sensors have gone out, I have had to replace the backup sensors, just small things and my biggest issue is that the engine keeps eating my oil and I don't know where it is going. This is a common thing with them. Other than that the Tahoe is a nice vehicle.
If you are looking at a Toyota RAV4, I highly recommend a new one, I looked at used prices and these vehicles are expensive with the amount of miles put on them. I would rather get new one than pay for one with 40-60,000 miles already on a 1 year old vehicle. To me the prices were not that much of a difference because if you finance it, the rates are actually better for a new one versus an old one.

Hope this helps some of you that is looking for a good vehicle. Can't say enough about it but overall I am very happy and impressed with it.

Char Sui to Pork & Seeds

Char Sui I remember making this once but I don't remember trying someone else recipe but this time around I did use someone else's recipe and it came out great! I think the key to this was actually cooking it. I went to my local asian store to find the ingredients but I am sure if you don't want to leave your house you can get them here on Amazon through my links.  Ingredients to get: You can get these by clicking on them and purchasing on Amazon.  1 Pork Tenderloins 1/2 cup dark soy sauce 1/3 cup honey 1/3 cup of ketchup 1/3 cup of brown sugar 1/4 cup of Chinese rice wine 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce   1 teaspoon of Chinese five spice powder 2 tablespoons of red food coloring (Optional, I didn't use this as it did not add any flavor just visual) After getting these ingredients, I cut the tenderloins into 4 strips and you can even cut them just to two strips to make it bigger for when you slice it for pork and seeds or cut them into 4 p
